Mequon native Jordan Niebrugge had five birdies in a bogey-free 65 that left him tied for fourth, four shots behind Canadian Jared du Toit after one round of the Freedom 55 Financial Championship in London, Ontario. Niebrugged birdied the par-5 first hole starting his round and then picked up birdies at Nos. 7, 9, 11 and 16 to play his way into contention.

Osceola native Charlie Danielson birdied Nos. 15 and 17 late in his round to fnish off a 4-under 66 that left him tied for 11th, five shots back. He also birdied Nos. 1, 7 and 9 (around a bogey at No. 4) before his strong finish.
