One international student will leave the Cardinal Stritch women's golf roster this spring only to have another replace her this fall.
Antonia Bremeyer of Germany has orally committed to the Wolves, coach Neal Grusczynski announced Tuesday on his Facebook page. Bremeyer is the first commitment for a Cardinal Stritch program that is scheduled to graduate only Canadian Sydney Clement after this season.
Bremeyer, from Timmendorfer Strand, qualified the last three years for the German Junior Championships and finished 27th in 2016. She shot a career-low 71 during the WAGR tournament in Hamburg.
"I've been playing golf since I was 6 years gold," Bremeyer said in a recruiting video on YouTube. "My goal is to keep getting better in what I do. This I want to achieve by combining college golf and studying in one."
She played for the Ladies and the Junior teams of Lübeck-Travemünder Golfklub. The Ladies Team went undefeated into the 3rd German League and the Junior Team won the Schleswig-Holstein Championships.
"Antonia played a really important role in these teams," said Adam Cockayne, her teacher and a PGA professional in her native Germany. "She's a good team player. She gets to know the other girls really well and takes an active partin training."
