University Ridge Golf Course in Madison has now come up with a unique way to hold its annual end-of-season "Customer Appreciation Sale" and still adhere to COVID-19-mandated capacity restrictions dictating the number of shoppers that can be in the pro shop at one time.

You've heard of a tee time? This might best be described as a "see time."

With Dane County limiting retail capacity to 50 percent, University Ridge will be selling four spots every 20 minutes online during its sale, which runs from Nov. 18 through Nov. 21, according to a University Ridge email sent to golfers Wednesday. A reservation system similar to reserving an online tee time will be used to schedule shoppers in 20-minute intervals starting at 8 a.m.

Shopping times will be sold for $25 online and staff will give you a gift card for $25 when you arrive. Each reservation time will allow for two people from the same household to shop together. The email said shoppers will have as much time as they need, but will be encouraged to socially distance and be considerate of others' time.

Those who cannot make their reservation time will be rescheduled or sent their gift card.

"As always, EVERYTHING is on sale!" the email read.

All men's and women's apparel will be discounted at least 30 percent while most items will be reduced 40 to 50 percent, according to the email. Gloves, socks, hats and other golf accessories will also be on sale.

Walk-in guests will be asked to book a time online or by phone at 608-845-7700. All sales must take place in the golf shop. No phone or email orders will be accepted.
