What was your most memorable high school golf highlight or accomplishment? My most memorable high school golf accomplishment was when I shot 70 at Bass Lake Country Club in a conference tournament last year.

Besides golf, what were you best known for at your high school? I was also known for being a hockey player. I was the goalie for our varsity team. My senior year we had a very successful season.

How did you get your start in golf? What age? Who were your early influences? I started playing golf in eighth grade. At age 14. I did play a little bit when I was younger, but only a few times a year. I did not actually start to play in tournaments or work on my game until eighth grade.

What do you remember about your first varsity match in high school? I was very nervous because there were so many players that were all older than me. I ended up shooting 79 and took second out of 40. Everyone was so surprised because nobody had ever heard of me or expected me to shoot that.

Who was your most influential high school teammate and why? My most influential teammate was John Birnbaum. We would always stay after practice to work on our games until it got dark. He graduated after my sophomore year, but we still play together quite a bit. He also played college golf and was able to help me with the recruiting process.

What was your favorite high school tournament and why? My favorite high school tournament was the state tournament at University Ridge my junior year. I enjoyed the opportunity to play against the best players in the state.

What did you miss most without high school golf this spring? I missed being able to try to win the State Tournament. I was going to try to peak for that tournament and think I would have played well.

What did you miss most about not going to school for classes this spring? Being able to see my friends and support them in their sports. I have a lot of good friends that played baseball and softball and it would have been fun to go to their games.

What are your plans for this fall? What college do you plan to attend? I am going to attend Winona State University to play on the golf team. I am super excited to continue my golf career.
