Looking ahead

What to watch

New Richmond begins its drive for five straight Middle Border Conference titles by reloading with a capable mix of youth and experience led by Concordia-St. Paul recruit Jessica Hagman. However, the depth of the Tigers' lineup comes from sophomores Lanie Veenendall and Sydney Nolan and freshman Abbie Ritzer, who have served them well through two MBC mini-meets. However, Prescott has the conference's best 1-2 punch in freshman Ava Salay and senior Alexis Fredericks and, as its Nos. 3 and 4 golfers develop, could be a team to watch by the end of the season, especially when the Cardinals take the Division 2 path for the WIAA tournament while New Richmond looks to get back to the state tournament in Division 1.
