Jim Schuman shot a final-round 70 and finished in a tie for 12th place Sunday in the 31st Senior PGA Professional Championship at the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas.
Schuman, a Madison native who splits his time teaching at Blue Mound Golf & Country Club in Wauwatosa and in Scottsdale, Ariz., qualified for the 2020 KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship by finishing among the top 35.
Scott Hebert of Traverse City, Mich., came from behind to win the title at 16-under 270, matching the championship record for the lowest 72-hole total. He joined Steve Schneiter and Bob Sowards as the only players with victories in both the PGA Professional and Senior PGA Professional Championships.
Schuman, 56, had rounds of 73-69-67-70 for a 7-under 279 total.
