The grades are in and at least 18 women's college golfers with Wisconsin ties have been honored for their academic achievement as 2015-16 All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association.
The WGCA announced Wednesday that 828 student-athletes from NCAA and NAIA institutions around the nation were named to the team.
To be named an All-American scholar, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average, which is among the highest requirements for an academic award in all of collegiate athletics, and Division I student-athletes must have competed in at least 60 percent of the school's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
The list of Wisconsin golfers earning the honors is led by University of Wisconsin freshman Jessica Reinecke, a two-time WIAA Division 1 state champion from Verona who becomes the Badgers' 17th honoree.
