The third round of the 2018 LPGA Q-Series has been postponed until Saturday due to continued rain and unplayable course conditions.
Play was originally suspended by 30 minutes Friday as officials assessed the course. Following that assessment, officials decided the earliest play would start would be 10:30 a.m. CT.
However, the rain continued to fall and greens began to take on casual water, and play was officially called for the day at 8:37 a.m. CT, just after former University of Wisconsin golfer Lexi Harkins was supposed to begin her third round. Additional rain bands are forecasted throughout the day with increasing wind, while the weekend forecast is favorable.
The third round will begin on Saturday at 6:50 a.m., with the fourth round scheduled for Sunday.
Through 36 holes on Pinehurst No. 6, Czech Republic player Klara Spilková leads the 102-player field at 8-under-par while Canadian amateur Jaclyn Lee (-6) is two strokes back with just one bogey through 36 holes. Golfers are playing 144 holes over two, four-day tournaments with the top-45 finishers and ties receiving LPGA membership in Category 14 on the LPGA Priority List and remaining competitors earning Symetra Tour status.
Harkins (74-74) is tied for 34th at 4-over 148. Edgerton native Allyssa Ferrell, a Symetra Tour veteran who had LPGA Tour status in 2017, is tied for 78th after rounds of 76-77. She was to have teed off at 11 a.m. CT Friday
